In the southern part of Ashgabat, at the foot of the Kopetdag mountain range, a grand unveiling ceremony took place, marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Turkmen poet, thinker, and humanist Magtymguly Pyragy. This monument became part of a new cultural-park complex, which includes 24 statues of world-renowned writers and poets from different eras and countries, reports TDH.

The opening ceremony was led by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The festive events began with a vibrant choreographic performance titled "Friendship of Peoples," in which artists in national costumes performed a unified dance symbolizing cultural diversity.

Following this, the head of state toured the complex, where majestic statues of literary geniuses such as Honoré de Balzac, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Rabindranath Tagore, William Shakespeare, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Dante Alighieri, Sayat-Nova, and many others have been installed.

The highlight of the festivities was the unveiling of the monumental statue of Magtymguly Pyragy. The 60-meter sculpture of the poet, symbolizing his greatness and spiritual power, stands on a 20-meter pedestal, approached by a grand staircase with massive granite bowls.

The President of Turkmenistan, members of the government, the diplomatic corps, and representatives of international organizations laid flowers at the foot of the monument to Magtymguly Pyragy, paying tribute to the genius of Turkmen literature.

The final highlight was a massive fireworks display that lit up the Ashgabat sky with colorful bursts for over 20 minutes.
