Ancient Nisa

Nisa (also called Parthaunisa) is a prominent world heritage monument located in the southern part of Turkmenistan. It is one of the most majestic cities, dating from the 3rd millennium BC, and was founded by the Parthians. The city faced difficult times of destruction and conquest, but this did not prevent it from maintaining its appeal in the eyes of tourists and historians.

Based on a crucial hub of trade routes, Nisa has long played an influential role in East-West trade. Its strong walls, with triumphal gates several meters wide, and strong towers were of main strategic priority to the city. At various times, various cultures and traditions reigned in the town, finding their expression in architecture, religion, and mythology.

This means that Nyssa was the starting point for the creation of a powerful power of Achaemenid conquerors in the 6th century BC. The city was important in transferring political and cultural trends and influences from Mesopotamia to the oldest cultures of the East and South.
